About Us Conspiracy Snowboard, Ski & Skateboard Shop is one of Britain's leading independent rider run & owned stores. Formally known as Clarke's Skates, the shop has been running in St. Albans, Hertfordshire for over 30 years! Tony Clarke began selling skateboard products in 1977 from the back corner of the famous Clarke's motorcycle shop. Over the years Clarke's became the favourite meeting point for many local skateboarders to share information and to hear about developments in the skateboard world.
Conspiracy took over from Clarke's in 2000 and has endeavoured to carry on all the good work and keep the heritage alive. Being keen snowboarders & Skiers, the crew decided to expand the shop and open a winter sports department. We have been successfully trading as a skateboard, snowboard & Ski shop ever since.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS Access and use of our Web site, together with the sale and the purchase of products from the site, are governed by the terms and conditions set out below. By using the site you agree to accept the following terms and conditions. If you do not wish to accept these terms and conditions, you may choose not to use this site or contact us to ask for further information. A contract between Conspiracy Retail Ltd. and the customer will exist once an order has been accepted, processed, dispatched and received.
LIABILITY STATEMENT Extreme sports can be hazardous. Conspiracy Retail Ltd advises that anyone participating in extreme sports should wear the correct protective equipment. It is the individuals OWN responsibility to learn and understand the proper techniques associated with safe participation in these activities and to fully accept and assume all risks, damages, injury or death which may result from the use of the items sold, built or repaired by Conspiracy Retail Ltd, its Directors, employees or other representatives.
Our catalogue, adverts and Web site descriptions, images and colours are subject to change and are for illustrative purposes only. In the event of a particular colour or variation not being available we will make every attempt to find a suitable alternative. Please note that many snowboards/skis carry different colours/graphics depending on size. Some of our web pages may use external links. DESCRIPTION AND PRICE OF THE GOODS Prices and availability are subject to change without notice. We reserve the right to alter prices and / or special offer details at our own discretion.
In addition to the price, you may be required to pay a delivery charge for the goods.
We set the same initial prices across the Conspiracy store, catalogue, adverts and internet. However, over time prices may vary due to special offers and promotions being run. From time to time we may alter the pricing online so that the prices are lower than in the current catalogue, adverts or in store. Unfortunately we cannot offer the same pricing in this instance in the store and over the phone.
CANCELLING YOUR ORDER: If you need to cancel your order before it's been sent out, please call 0870 752 8880 before 12.00pm on the day you order, or if you order after 6pm, call us before 12pm the following day. If you are unhappy with your goods once they arrived you are entitled to return the goods for a refund or replacement. Please see our Returns policy for further info. |
Making A Purchase Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our store, or use Quick search to find what you need and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.
We accept payments from Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, Solo, Delta and Visa Electron cards. We use the Protx payment system for orders placed on our website.
A confirmation of order will be sent to you via email (please check spam folders), this is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an invoice. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable.

Shipping And Handling We ship to the United Kingdom and the rest of Europe, United States of America, Canada and Japan. We are unable to fulfill orders outside of these areas.
Due to the nature of our business, stock availability cannot be guaranteed. If your goods are in stock the order will be shipped in order to reach you within *5 working days (*deliveries to Islands, Highlands, N. Ireland & Rest of Europe may take between 5-10 days. United States of America, Canada and Japan may take between 5-20 days.) Payment is not taken from your credit card until stock has been checked and the order is ready for shipping. For Courier deliveries, (Mainland UK only) providing you placed your order before 12.00 midday, will ship the same day and usually arrive next day (excluding Weekends and Bank Holidays) although we DO NOT guarantee this.
Orders must be signed for so please make sure there will be someone available at your delivery address. Orders received after 12pm will be processed on the next working day, (A working day is any day other than the weekend, Monday's (we are closed!) and bank or other public holidays.) so long as all stock items are available. Orders placed after 12pm on Friday's or over weekends & Monday's (our closed day, inc. Bank/public Holiday's) will be processed and dispatched on the next working day. PLEASE NOTE: COURIER ORDERS PLACED AFTER 12PM ON FRIDAY'S, WILL NOT BE DESPATCHED UNTILL THE FOLLOWING TUESDAY FOR DELIVERY ON WEDNESDAY
27-11-09 Christmas Delivery Dates: For guaranteed (UK MAINLAND) delivery before Christmas we recommend that you select the Courier delivery option. If you place your order by the Monday 21st Dec it should be delivered by the 24th, please note that all deliveries will require a signature. All orders received after this date will arrive on either the 29th/30th dec or the 2nd Jan 2010 onwards.
The goods you order will be delivered to the address you give when you place your order.
PLEASE NOTE FOR UK DELIVERIES: If you haven't received your goods within 4-5 days due to no one being in to sign for them (you may be carded by the courier or postman), then please contact us straight away as the goods may be sent back to us. If this happens you will inccur a charge of £10 to re-send the goods or if at this point you would prefer a refund, this will be granted minus your original postage payment plus an extra £10.
If you fail to take delivery because you have cancelled your order, we shall refund or re-credit you within 30 days for any sum that has been paid by you or debited from your credit card for the goods, less any expenses incurred for failed delivery.
Every effort will be made to deliver the goods as soon as possible after your order has been accepted. However, we will not be liable for any loss or damage suffered by you through reasonable or unavoidable delay in delivery. In this case, we will inform you as soon as possible. Please also note that our couriers will not leave a parcel with neighbours unless specified by the customer.
FREE DELIVERY: Any goods sent out by FREE delivery can still be refunded or exchanged (within our standard terms) but a set charge of £10 will be deducted/requested for any refunded or exchanged goods. SALE ITEMS WILL NOT RECEIVE FREE POSTAGE.
Upon receipt of your order you will be asked to sign for the goods received in good condition. If you are unable to check the contents of the package at that moment in time please sign for the parcel as "UNCHECKED". Failure to do so may affect any warranty claims that you make thereafter.
Postage charges are non-refundable.

All transaction information passed between our site and the Protx VSP Systems is encrypted using 128-bit SSL certificates. No cardholder information is ever passed unencrypted and any messages sent to our servers from Protx are signed using MD5 hashing to prevent tampering. You can be completely secure in the knowledge that nothing passed to the Protx servers can be examined, used or modified by any third parties attempting to gain access to sensitive information. Encryption and Data Storage
Once on the Protx systems, all sensitive data is secured using the same internationally recognised 256-bit encryption standards used by, among others, the US Government. The encryption keys are held on state-of-the-art, tamper proof systems in the same family as those used to secure VeriSign's Global Root certificate, making them all but impossible to extract. The data held by Protx is extremely secure and Protx are regularly audited by the banks and banking authorities to ensure it remains so.
Links to banks
Protx have multiple private links into the banking network that are completely separate from the internet and which do not cross any publicly accessible networks. Any cardholder information sent to the banks and any authorisation message coming back is secure and cannot be tampered with. Employee access No individuals within Protx are able to decrypt transaction information or cardholder data. Their systems only allow access to their most senior staff and only in extenuating circumstances (such as investigations of Card Fraud by the Police). Your transaction information and customer card information is secure even from their own employees because their systems never display the full card numbers, even on administration screens. |

Returns Policy SALE ITEMS ARE NON REFUNDABLE/EXCHANGEABLE.
Before returning an item to us you must call us for a returns number. Items sent back without a returns number cannot be accepted.
Non-faulty items must be sent back unused and in their original packaging any time up to the end of 7 days after you receive the goods. Once received, we will offer an exchange or a full refund if required. CD's, videos, games and DVD's will not be accepted unless they are returned sealed. Books, Soiled shoes and worn clothing will not be exchanged or refunded. Your statutory rights are not effected by these conditions. Shoes will not be exchanged or refunded if they have SKATE RELATED damage (grip tape is abrasive!), depending on use shoes can wear through very quickly! Wear and stitching damaged is generally not a manufacturing fault. Skateboard setups are custom made to the customer's order and therefore cannot be returned. In addition, snapped or cracked boards usually occur when your foot is in the wrong position when landing a trick. Unfortunately, if this happens, we cannot replace your broken board.
If you exercise your right of cancellation after the goods have been delivered to you, you will be responsible for returning the goods to Conspiracy Retail Ltd at your own cost. The goods must be returned to the address shown above. You must take reasonable care to ensure the goods are not damaged in the meantime or in transit.
Once you have notified Conspiracy Retail Ltd that you are cancelling the contract, Conspiracy Retail Ltd will refund or re-credit you within 30 days for any sum that has been paid by you or debited from your credit card for the goods.
You will be required to pay postage when returning your exchange items to us. Please note that postage costs are non-refundable. Products returned must be properly packaged and sent fully pre-paid to our address (above). When sending your return please obtain a CERTIFICATE OF POSTAGE from your Post office as you will have to produce it in case of a loss.
Label all returns to 'Conspiracy Returns Department'. You should also include your name, address, daytime telephone number, a copy of all invoice/receipts and a covering letter explaining why you are returning it AND what you would like us to do; refund or exchange? With any returns we reserve the right not to refund any item returned not in new condition or after the 7 day period.
All products from Conspiracy are guaranteed against manufacturing defects. Guarantees may vary depending on products & manufacturers. If you think that your item is faulty then please contact us as soon as possible. All items will be inspected by ourselves and often by the Manufacturer before being deemed faulty. Once we are satisfied the goods are faulty, depending on the circumstances they may be repaired, replaced, exchanged or refunded. Your postage costs in returning the item to us will also be refunded.
If your purchase is being submitted for a warranty claim it will need to be assessed by the manufacturer before a decision is made on action required. This may incur a postage/courier charge on larger items for which successful claims will be reimbursed.
Nb: please be aware that some snowboard equipment (and other large items) will need to be sent via courier and therefore packaged by the customer. Courier pickup can be arranged by conspiracy retail ltd if no courier is available to the customer for a non-profit charge.
If the goods supplied to you are damaged on delivery, you should notify us by phone within 7 days.
Applicable Law
These terms of sale and the supply of the goods will be subject to English law and the English courts will have jurisdiction in respect of any dispute arising from the contract. |
